Choosing a health coach is a highly individual and personal choice. It’s an investment in your life.
You want a capable and qualified coach. Importantly, a coach who “gets” you, who understands and champions your strengths as well as your vision for your best self.
I believe in our capacity for change as I have witnessed it time and time again in my clients.
So What IS Health Coaching?

Health and Wellness Coaching is a relationship. It is one developed by a coach and client thereby facilitating healthy and sustainable behavioral change.
By asking the client to look within herself or himself to identify the vision and values surrounding health and wellness, the client becomes really clear on her goals.
Your coach then offers individual attention and focus, resources, and accountability, thereby transferring goals into action.
Coaching, empowers you, the client, to be the person you want to be, to live your best life possible. These are your goals. This is your LIFE.

Goals
Most of us have goals regarding our health, lifestyle, or fitness. We may have some understanding of what healthy does and does not look like. We read the latest guru book, magazine, e-zine, listen to the latest podcast, watch the latest YouTube or TED talk our friends told us about on diet, exercise, organization, mindfulness, health…Whew!!!!

So WHY then, can we not transfer that information into a lasting change? In other words, successfully reach our goals?
It is NOT for a lack of willpower. It is not necessarily for the lack of knowledge but it is for the lack of neural pathways. In other words, those well-worn paths we form when we do something with great repetition.
These are our habits.
Habits can be our friend
Habits can be hard to break, as the old saying goes, on the flip side, that is good news for us!
An accountability partner by your side is an important aspect of the coaching process. Your coach is someone who will check in with you on a regular basis, will offer encouragement without judgment, and will help you recognize your successes even when you find them hard to see.
You are the focus. Coaching gives you undivided attention. That is to say, your coach is an equal partner with you, helping you gain tools to improve and grow. This provides you with the means to achieve your goals thereby creating lasting change and great habits.
What does a coaching session look like?
A coaching session takes place where the coach can focus on you without distractions. For example, in person, in an office setting, or via connection with a phone or apps like zoom.
A session will last anywhere from 30 minutes to an hour with exception of the first session which often lasts an hour.
During each session, your coach will check in with you. You will share your progress and/or barriers experienced since the last session. Next, your coach will explore where you are now, where you want to go, your motivations, and potential barriers to moving forward.
In addition, your coach will help you assess how ready you are to make these changes. This is done through powerful questioning.
Finally, action steps will be explored and you will decide how those will take place in your life. Your coach may offer you resources curated specifically for you pertaining to your goals.
Above all, every session and all information shared with your coach is always held and kept confidential.
Always look for a Nationally Board Certified Health and Wellness Coach

Furthermore, this symbol is authorized for use only by coaches who have met the strict standards set.
